Why do I need a monthly subscription plan?
Your monthly subscription includes your GPS and activity-tracking coverage. The Tracker uses GPS to track your dog’s location while they’re at your house, out on walks, or possibly lost. It then sends that data back to your Petivity Dog Tracker app so you can quickly find your pup.
Activity coverage allows you to monitor your pet’s activity and rest, daily and over time.
The subscription is required to track location and activity data.
You’ll be asked to sign up for the subscription while setting up your Tracker in the app.

Plug in the included wireless charging pad and simply place the device on it. When all 3 lights are on, you’re good to go.

The Tracker secures to any dog collar or harness with the VELCRO® Brand Strap (included).

Will the GPS Tracker fit on my dog’s collar?
The GPS Tracker easily attaches to any collar or harness, ensuring a comfortable, secure fit for a range of dog sizes.
Will the GPS Tracker work without a subscription?
The key features of the GPS Tracker (real-time location tracking and activity monitoring) will not work without a subscription. Your dog also can’t earn any badges in the app.
You’re free to use the Dog Tracker app without a subscription, but the features are limited. You can enter your dog’s weight and keep a record of some of their information in their profile.
If you cancel your subscription, you can see historical activity data, previously recorded walks, and any badges earned. But the device will no longer track location or activity, and your dog won’t earn any more badges. You can still enter your dog’s weight.
If I own multiple Trackers, do I need a subscription for each one?
Each Tracker device requires its own subscription.This ensures that the location and activity of each of your dogs is correctly tracked.
How accurate is the GPS Tracker?
In areas with good AT&T or T-Mobile coverage, your Petivity GPS Tracker will show your dog’s location on a map to within several feet, updated live every 10 seconds. It may be a little less accurate if coverage is poor, but the Petivity GPS Tracker should always get you close enough to your dog to see and hear them.
If you turn on live tracking in the app, you’ll see your dog’s location as an icon inside a circle on the map. The smaller the circle, the more accurate their location.
How does the GPS Tracker measure activity?
Your Tracker uses an embedded accelerometer to measure your dog's movements in three dimensions.
For distance, the device detects your dog's steps by counting them and knowing the stride length (how far each step takes your furry friend). By multiplying the steps by the stride length, we accurately calculate the distance your dog has traveled.
The Tracker tells the difference between walking and running by judging the intensity of your dog's natural gait motion. If a dog is constantly changing from walking to running, or stopping and changing direction, this is characteristic of many dog games and the activity is interpreted as playing. This helps make sure it is owner-initiated exercise and counts it towards the activity goal.
How often does the battery need to be charged?
The GPS + Activity Tracker has a built-in battery that can last up to 30 days when fully charged, depending on usage and coverage.
The Find My Dog Now and Start a Walk features enable live-tracking, which uses a lot of battery power. If you use these features often, you’ll need to charge your device more frequently.
To charge the device, simply place it on the included charging pad.
