      GPS + Activity Dog Tracker FAQs

      Will the GPS Tracker work without a subscription? 

      You’re free to use the Dog Tracker app without a subscription, but the features are limited to: 

      • Weight monitoring 
      • Profile information  

      However, these key features of the GPS Tracker will not work without a subscription: 

      • Real-time location tracking 
      • Activity monitoring 
      • Achievement badges in the app 

      If you purchase a subscription and cancel it, you can see historical activity data, previously recorded walks, and any badges earned. But the device will no longer track location or activity, and your dog won’t earn any new badges. You can still enter your dog’s weight. 

      Please note: Once you purchase a subscription from Petivity, it’s linked to your account and GPS Tracker. The Tracker can’t be gifted, transferred, or sold to another person. 

      If I own multiple Trackers, do I need a subscription for each one? 

      Each Tracker device requires its own subscription.This ensures that the location and activity of each of your dogs is correctly tracked.

      What subscription options are available for the GPS Tracker? 

      You can choose between a monthly or annual subscription plan for your GPS Tracker. Both options include unlimited GPS tracking and activity insights for your dog. The only real difference is price: the monthly plan is $9.99, or you can save with the annual plan at $99.99 per year (that’s essentially two months free). 

      You can cancel your subscription at any time and get a refund within 90 days of purchase if you return your Tracker.  

      How accurate is the GPS Tracker?

      In areas with good AT&T or T-Mobile coverage, your Petivity GPS Tracker will show your dog’s location on a map to within several feet, updated live every 10 seconds. It may be a little less accurate if coverage is poor, but the Petivity GPS Tracker should always get you close enough to your dog to see and hear them. 

      If you turn on live tracking in the app, you’ll see your dog’s location as an icon inside a circle on the map. The smaller the circle, the more accurate their location.  

      Does the GPS Tracker require mobile coverage or Wi-Fi?

      The GPS Tracker does not rely on Wi-Fi. It uses GPS satellites and mobile networks to track your dog’s real-time location*, even when they’re far from your phone. This allows for more accurate tracking with far greater range than a Bluetooth connection. The cost of the GPS and mobile coverage is included in your subscription.

      Is the GPS Tracker waterproof?

      The GPS Tracker is waterproof up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for 30 minutes without sustaining damage. It is rated as IPX7. That means your Tracker will keep working even when it’s exposed to typical splashing, swimming, and rain.

      Which phones and operating systems are compatible with the Dog Tracker app? 

      The Petivity Dog Tracker app is available for both Apple and Android devices. For Apple products, you’ll need iOS 14.0 or later; Android requires version 11 and up. The Dog Tracker app needs to be installed on your smart phone to track your dog’s location and activity.

      Will the GPS Tracker fit on my dog’s collar? 

      The GPS Tracker easily attaches to any collar or harness, ensuring a comfortable, secure fit for a range of dog sizes.

      How durable is the GPS Tracker?

      Our GPS Tracker is designed to be safe, durable, and waterproof. While it is built to be tough, it’s not completely chew-proof . We recommend keeping it out of reach from your pup when it’s off the collar or charging to prevent damage.
