How does the automatic cat feeder work?
The Petivity Smart Feeder for Cats dispenses measured portions of dry cat food on a schedule you set in the Petivity mobile app. You add kibble to the food container, and at your set time, a rotating food carousel inside the Feeder releases a portion into a metal bowl.
In the app, you can watch live video of your cat during meals and get notifications showing when—and how much—your pet ate.
Will the Feeder work with my cat’s favorite food?
The Feeder can support most standard sizes and shapes of cat kibble, as long as it’s under 15 millimeters in diameter. The Feeder can dispense as little as 1/8 cup (12 grams) and up to 3/4 cup (72 grams) in one meal.
Can you put wet cat food in the automatic feeder?
The Feeder is designed for dry cat kibble and can’t support canned, wet food or raw food (these types of food can jam the machine).
How do I clean the automatic cat feeder?
The food container, kibble carousel, and stainless-steelbowl are all easy to remove and dishwasher-safe. That’s pretty much everything that touches your cat's food.
What happens if the Feeder gets jammed?
The Feeder is designed with Auto-Jam Correction to prevent jams. If your cat kibble is smaller than 15 millimeters in diameter, you generally don’t need to worry about them.
In the rare event of a jam, you’ll get an alert on your phone from the Petivity app. The app can provide step-by-step instructions and images on how to clean out the Feeder and fix the jam.
Not at home? You can use the app to prime the Feeder. This moves the kibble around a bit and may fix the problem. But again, jams are rare.
Can dogs use the Petivity Smart Feeder for Cats?
The Feeder is designed specifically for cats and how they eat, including their feeding habits and portion sizes. We recommend using it for cats only.
